Women World Maxibasketball League

This year in November 13-20 the first edition of the World Women League will be held in Paraná City, Argentina. It is a great challenge for women Maxibasketball because it will be the first time ever a championship for 40+ will be organized in the world.

Paraná city is 380 km north from Buenos Aires. It is on the shore of the big river called Paraná, the same one coming from the Iguazú falls. The Organizing Committee is preparing a full week of sport and tourism. Tours in the river, a Gala Dinner for the entire participant and companions and a great tournament played in the best gyms of the first basketball level in the country.

There are several worldwide teams with positive answer anticipating a superlative event.

La Federación Maxibasketbol de Puerto Rico ya estrenó su nueva casa en el Centro de Alto Rendimiento del Departamento de Recreación y Deportes de Puerto Rico. Gracias a la decisión del Non. Secretario, Lic. Henry Newman quien respaldara la solicitud del Presidente de la Federación Maxi nacional El Sr: José “Cheo” Otero para que el Departamento acogiera y apoyara al maxibasketball en el uso de las facilidades deportivas. Puerto Rico ya cuenta con la asignación de este precioso complejo deportivo, lo que permite a la Federación local preparar adecuadamente a las delegaciones para las competencias locales e internacionales, ayudar al desarrollo de los equipos, y a diseñar las estrategias pertinentes para el crecimiento del maxibasketball en Puerto Rico.

To whom it my concern: Article Mr. Bianchi very impotant and very topical. There is absolutly nothing in basketball officiating which contributes more to success-- or to failure--than the ability of the crew to work together.Officials who operate as a team to: see the same game; know where their partners are; trust the partners; and COMMUNICATE,will work a good game every time. The modern game does not require three(or two) referees to handle the game; instead it requires one team of referees. The pre-game conference should help develop this teamwork. Also, I think we need a clinic for local and FIMBA referees together before each Championship. Sincerely, Vladi Eliseev (USA).
